Project Overview

The brief was to design UI assets in a style reminiscent of "Hades" for the game “Swords of War”, an RPG set in a medieval fantasy world.

Challenge

The challenge on this project was creating medieval fantasy artwork that didn't feel derivative of established IP - as well as striking a balance between the client brief and

The client preferred the second style, but felt that the imagery and materiality was too roman and not evocative of a medieval knight.

Outcome

Working for an external client with high demands made me produce multiple iterations of the work throughout the short span of the project. It showed me how an external point of view can help push my work further, even when I am content. Each time I implemented feedback, I was even more pleased with the result. This project also assured me that I can work fast while adapting to changes.
